Three choices
Use expected date, not returning, or unknown based on facts known when the ROE is prepared.
Date relationship
When an expected date is entered, it must be after the last day paid.
Example
a scheduled seasonal return can support an expected date.
Boundary or exception
An expected recall is not compatible with certain quit, retirement or dismissal reasons.
