An open project starts in memory. Closing, reloading or browser recovery behaviour varies, so use the warning and choose explicit encrypted recovery when needed.
Encrypted options
Optional device recovery and portable .roehelp files use AES-GCM encryption with an Argon2id passphrase-derived key. The passphrase is not stored or recoverable by roe.help.
saving locally creates encrypted IndexedDB data on that browser, not a roe.help cloud account.
Encryption cannot protect data from a compromised browser profile, malware, screen capture or someone who knows the passphrase.
