Start with the event
Identify what happened first and when: work or insurable earnings stopped, Service Canada made a request, or an administrative change occurred.
Keep the facts
Record the pay frequency, last day paid, pay-period end and reason. Those facts affect both the decision and the deadline.
Example
a fixed-term contract ends and there is no further work.
Boundary or exception
Casual, on-call, wage-loss, ownership, payroll-account and provider-change situations can require a different rule.
